A downtown government building is now renamed in honor of the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Harris County leaders gathered on Thursday at 1111 Fannin near Lamar for the dedication ceremony at noon.

The recently renovated 17-story office building houses various county operations. County Commissioners voted unanimously last year on a suggestion from Commissioner Rodney Ellis to rename the building after Jackson Lee.
