Health Authority: No Good Reason To Be ‘on the fence’ Regarding Coronavirus Vaccine


A local health expert says he’s concerned about a recent dropoff in the number of people in the Valley getting a coronavirus vaccine. Cameron County Health Authority Dr. James Castillo says it’s worrying because there’s no good reason not to get the shot:

In addition, Dr. Castillo tells 710 KURV the vaccines are readily available and you can get one almost anytime – at a county or city-sponsored vaccination clinic, at your doctor’s office, or at a pharmacy. And with the Pfizer vaccine now approved for children as young as 12, Castillo is urging parents to get their children vaccinated – noting the research shows the vaccine is even more effective in pre-teens and teenagers.
