By Hidalgo County Commissioner Eddie Cantu is running for re-election. Cantu was sworn in as Precinct Two county commissioner in 2015 after previously serving as a city commissioner in Pharr.
His re-election announcement noted that Cantu has helped secure 100-million dollars in state and federal funding for infrastructure improvements and quality-of-life projects over the last 11 years. He said he will keep delivering results by focusing on fiscal responsibility, public safety and community investments.
