Hidalgo County D.A. Has Two Months To Decide On Death Penalty In Child Death

A Hidalgo County judge is giving the district attorney two more months to decide whether to pursue the death penalty in a case involving a child’s death.

Prosecutors told the judge yesterday that they needed more time to determine whether to seek the execution of Ubence Hernandez the Third.

Hernandez is charged with killing a one-year-old child who died due to blunt force trauma in October. The Hidalgo County D.A. now has until June 16th to make a decision in the case.
