An inmate has died at the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center. Thirty-six-year-old Lievan Aguirre became unresponsive after he was put into restraints early Tuesday. He was transported to Edinburg Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Aguirre was booked into the jail on November 21st on a criminal trespass charge. The Texas Rangers are investigating Aguirre’s death.
