Hidalgo County has received a state grant to help build a water treatment plant near Edinburg. The county is planning a 75-million dollar project that could provide five-million gallons of water each day. That’s enough water to supply about 85-thousand people.
The Texas Water Development Board is giving the county 15-million dollars, and county officials say they’ve raised another 30 million for the project.
