There’s a push in the Texas Senate to tap the rainy day fund to pay for more flood protection in the Hill Country. It includes 50-million dollars for an early warning system and 24-million dollars to develop better weather software.

State Senator Joan Huffman says there’s also 20-million dollars tucked into the plan that will fund a new swift water training facility for first responders. Right now, she says police and fire fighters travel out of state.
