Police are reporting that a threat that led to a lockdown at a Northeast Side elementary school on Wednesday was a hoax. North East ISD police say somebody phoned in the threat to Royal Ridge Elementary School around 8 a.m. The caller reportedly claimed to be in a restroom on campus and planned to shoot up the school.

District police and SAPD officers responded to the school, searched about 30 classrooms, and found no shooter. By that time, the school had alerted parents about the situation.
