Several federal agencies have formed a new task force to help combat crime and cartel operations in South Texas.
The creation of the regional task force was announced Monday. Agencies involved in the task force include the FBI, ICE, the DEA, the ATF, the U.S. Marshals Service and Homeland Security Investigations.
The task force has already made its first busts, breaking up Venezuelan gang activity in San Antonio and weapons and ammunition smuggling in Laredo.
