Hurricane Delta Forms In Caribbean, Bound For Gulf

Tropical Storm Delta is now a hurricane. The system gained strength in the Caribbean yesterday evening with 75 mile-per-hour winds.

Delta is expected to continue intensifying as it moves toward the Gulf of Mexico and could turn into a major Category 3 hurricane by Wednesday.

Forecasters with the National Hurricane Center say it will likely weaken before it makes landfall in Louisiana on Friday. High tides and coastal flooding on the east Texas Gulf Coast are possible.
