The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is releasing more details about a murder investigation in Penitas. The investigation began on Tuesday after two bodies were found in a vehicle following a brush fire. The sheriff’s office said the bodies were burned beyond recognition and ordered an autopsy.
Autopsy results announced yesterday indicate a man and a woman were inside the vehicle. The sheriff’s office says the vehicle belonged to a woman reported missing from La Grulla. Investigators are working with other agencies to determine the identities of the two people killed.
