Iran says the Strait of Hormuz will remain blocked until the U.S. accepts all of its conditions.
Iranian authorities made the claim on Wednesday after President Trump said the U.S. had “total control” of the oil shipping lane. Both sides are calling for “reparations” from the other side.
CNBC says data from a trade intelligence firm shows traffic through Hormuz is at its lowest level since May, and about 90-percent lower than before the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran last February.
The analysis said just over a dozen ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, compared to the daily average of 130 ships in February.
