The IRS is offering some Rio Grande Valley taxpayers some extra time to file their returns. The agency has announced an extended deadline for individuals and businesses affected by the storms that rolled through the Valley in late March.

Taxpayers in Hidalgo, Cameron, Willacy and Starr counties will have until November 3rd to file returns that were due on April 15th. The IRS will also waive any penalties levied against taxpayers who haven’t filed their returns.
