Israel Says Iran’s Top Security Chief Has Been “Eliminated”

The war in Iran continues, now in its 18th day, with Israel announcing overnight that Iran’s top security chief has been killed.

Israel’s defense minister says Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, was successfully “eliminated.” He had been seen as a close ally to the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who was killed at the start of Operation Epic Fury.

Just three weeks ago, Larijani was in Geneva for talks between Iran and the United States ahead of the conflict.
