A judge has dismissed a temporary restraining order against the City of Progreso.

The restraining order was issued earlier this month after Mayor Hugo Gamboa vetoed an extension of City Manager Pedro Trevino’s contract. Trevino filed a lawsuit accusing the mayor of firing him unlawfully, noting that the city council had approved his contract extension.

The city attorney says the action taken by the judge means that Trevino is out as the city manager.
