A Bexar County Court at Law judge faces charges for reportedly handcuffing an attorney during a disagreement in her courtroom.
Judge Rosie Speedlin Gonzalez turned herself in on Thursday after a grand jury indicted her for official oppression and unlawful restraint by a judicial officer. She made her first court appearance around 1 p.m.
Speedlin Gonzalez reportedly had defense attorney Elizabeth Russell placed in handcuffs and seated in the jury box in December 2024. The judge is up for reelection in the March 3rd primary.
