A federal judge says Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has no good reason to shut down a nonprofit that aims to increase voting among Latinos.

Paxton had sued Jolt Initiative in state court, claiming the group was trying to register criminal illegal immigrants to vote. The lawsuit aimed to revoke Jolt’s nonprofit charter.

A US District Judge ruled Thursday that Paxton hadn’t provided any proof that Jolt was violating the law.
