Illegal immigrants attending college in Texas are no longer eligible for in-state tuition. The US Department of Justice sued Texas over its policy of allowing illegals to qualify for lower tuition rates at public universities.
Attorney General Ken Paxton asked a US District Judge to agree with the feds in finding that the law was unconstitutional. That request was granted. The Texas Legislature had tried to outlaw the practice in the legislative session that ended Monday, but the effort failed in both chambers.
