The voter fraud trial of former Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina is set to begin next week.
A visiting judge denied a motion by Molina’s lawyers yesterday, allowing the trial to proceed. Jury selection for the trial is scheduled to start next Friday.
Molina was charged with election fraud and illegal voting in connection with his 2017 victory in the Edinburg mayor’s race. His wife is also facing trial on a charge of illegal voting.
