Kentucky U.S. Senator Rand Paul is backing Republican Don Huffines for Texas governor.  Paul, who graduated from Baylor, endorsed Huffines on Thursday, saying he will defend freedom and fight for limited constitutional government.  Huffines was Texas chairman for Paul during his 2016 presidential campaign.  He’s challenging incumbent Governor Greg Abbott in next year’s GOP primary.  Former Florida Congressman Allen West is also running, following his recent resignation as chair of the Texas GOP.
