The highly contagious strain continues to account for more and more of the region’s new cases. Though the recommendation is a precautionary measure, it’s a shift from the more relaxed guidance that’s been in place since June 15th. From then until yesterday, it was considered fine for people to forgo the mask in most indoor public settings.
