A lawsuit over the employment of Progreso’s city manager will go to trial in April. City Manager Pedro Trevino filed the suit after Progreso Mayor Hugo Gamboa refused to extend his contract.
The city council had already agreed to a contract extension with Trevino, but the mayor used his veto power to overturn that decision.
The judge in the case decided last week to lift a restraining order that would have prevented the mayor from enforcing his veto. The lawsuit will go to trial on April 27th.
