A recent court case involving the San Antonio ISD shows the risks of relying on artificial intelligence for legal research. After a student was sent to a disciplinary alternative education program for bringing a small knife to school, the student’s mother sued the school district. Her attorney filed an appeal citing eight different court cases.

The 4th Court of Appeals disciplined the attorney after determining four of the eight cases had apparently been fabricated by A-I.
