Houston airport officials are warning travelers about long delays at security checkpoints. The federal government shutdown is affecting TSA staffing and operations across the nation.

Wait times of more than three hours at Bush Intercontinental Airport and more than an hour at Hobby are expected to continue until further notice. At Bush, TSA checkpoints are open only at Terminals A and E. Fewer screening lanes are open at Hobby as well.

Officials are advising passengers to arrive several hours before their flights until the shutdown ends.
