Longtime Leader Of McAllen Chamber Steps Down

0

The McAllen Chamber of Commerce has found itself having to find a new leader. Longtime President and CEO Steve Ahlenius resigned Wednesday. In a statement announcing his resignation, Ahlenius said it’s been an honor and a privilege leading the McAllen Chamber, he outlined numerous projects that were developed and launched during his time as CEO, and he gave credit to the Chamber staff for making it all happen. Ahlenius gave no explanation for his decision to resign other than to say it’s time for a change. Ahlenius had led the McAllen Chamber since 1997. Chamber officials say an executive search firm will be brought in to help get a successor.
