A man is facing charges after allegedly injuring a DPS trooper in Mission. The trooper was reportedly conducting a traffic stop around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday on the eastbound side of Expressway 83.

A Chevy Cobalt ran into the stopped vehicle, pinning the trooper to the center of a cement barrier. The trooper is in stable condition in the hospital. Twenty-two-year-old Raul Robert Bustamante was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
