A man is convicted on charges stemming from a 2023 crash that killed two women near San Benito.

Authorities say Rogelio Leal ran a stop sign while speeding and collided with another vehicle, killing 97-year-old Mauricia Cruz-Rodriguez and 62-year-old Blanca Mauricia Zamorano.

Leal was found guilty last week of criminal negligent homicide. He will be sentenced at a later date.
