Man Dies After Confrontation At Whataburger In McAllen


A man has died after threatening customers and staff at a Mission Whataburger and then struggling with police.  Officers were called to the restaurant on South Tenth Street yesterday morning after the unidentified man made threats to keep anyone from leaving the restaurant.  Police chased the man after he left the Whataburger, catching him when he fell down on Tenth Street.  He resisted arrest and stopped breathing after he was taken into custody.  He died after he was taken to the hospital.  An autopsy is being conducted to determine the man’s cause of death.
