Man Given $680K Bond For Shooting In Hidalgo County

A man is facing charges for allegedly shooting at his family and law enforcement officers in Hidalgo County.

Deputies arrested 45-year-old Alex Pena on Saturday. Pena allegedly fired several shots at his daughter and son-in-law at a home on Brushline Road in rural Edinburg.

Investigators say he then fired additional shots at deputies when they arrived at the scene. He was taken into custody and charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault, including five counts of aggravated assault against a public servant. His bond was set at 680-thousand dollars.
