Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies are working to gather clues into who shot and killed a man in a rural neighborhood east of Edinburg.
Deputies responded to reports of gunshots in the 8200 block of East Curry Road, south of San Carlos, Tuesday night, and spotted the victim, 67-year-old Jorge Luis Lopez, lying on the driveway. Lopez had been shot multiple times and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who has any information about the victim or the shooter to call them at 383-8114 or call the Crime Stoppers hotline anonymously at 668-8477.
