Water customers in McAllen should expect to see a rate increase on their monthly bills. Officials announced last week that residents will be paying an extra 14 dollars a month.
Most of the increase will go toward debt service on the North Water Treatment Plant and the Brackish Groundwater Desalination Project. The general manager of McAllen Public Utilities says the projects will help the city’s water infrastructure meet future demands.
