McAllen Bike-Share Program Expanding Into Cameron County

A McAllen-based bike share program has taken a big step toward going regional. The Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council has expanded the program to Cameron County.

The B-Cycle program, which has 8 rental stations in McAllen, has opened an additional 5 stations in Brownsville and 4 in Harlingen. And according to the McAllen Monitor, the council is now working to expand the program and connect several other cities in Hidalgo County.

First launched in 2015, officials say the goal of the bike-share program is to get folks in the Valley to exercise more and enjoy the sights and sounds of outdoors.
