McAllen Man Accused Of Abusing, Keeping Teen Captive

A McAllen man faces several charges after being accused of abusing and keeping a teen girl captive. The Monitor reported Tuesday that Oscar De Lira was arrested last Thursday. He faces several charges including harboring a runaway child.

The 22-year-old contacted and made arrangements to pick up the 16-year-old girl on Snapchat back in mid September. He kept her in his house, where the two had sexual intercourse several times before the girl’s mother was able to track her using the girl’s cell phone GPS and report the situation to McAllen Police on September 30th. De Lira now sits in the Hidalgo County Detention Center.
