A McAllen man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for a deadly shooting in Alamo. Twenty-four-year-old Alberto Angel Medina pleaded guilty yesterday to shooting and killing Raul Cantu, Junior, in 2024.
Investigators say Medina was seen on surveillance footage pulling a gun from his waistband and shooting Cantu in a McDonald’s parking lot.
The shooting is thought to be drug and gang-related. Three other suspects were also arrested and have pleaded not guilty to charges connected to Cantu’s death.
