McAllen wants to turn a former reservoir into a multi-million-dollar development that includes entertainment, shops and residential space.

The city is already collecting bids for the 67-acre Boeye Reservoir site. The city believes the completed development could boost economic output by 330-million dollars and create 900 permanent jobs.

Bids for the project will be accepted through mid-December, and a timeline for construction is expected after the bid process is complete.
