McAllen Veterans Home Tapped For COVID-19 Prevention Funds


The Alfredo Gonzalez State Veterans Home in McAllen will be undergoing renovations and improvements aimed at mitigating the risk of coronavirus infections – thanks to federal funding from the recently-passed American Rescue Plan. More than $1.6 million has been allocated for the veterans home in McAllen.

The money comes from a $150 million coronavrius relief fund contained in the American Rescue Plan, and is designated for modifying veterans homes to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
