Mercedes ISD Superintendent Resigns After DWI Arrest

The Mercedes school district is looking for a new superintendent. The district’s school board accepted Benjamin Clinton’s resignation during a special meeting yesterday.

Clinton was arrested May 16th in Los Fresnos on a charge of driving while intoxicated, and has been on paid administrative leave since last week. Former Harlingen ISD Superintendent Alicia Noyola is currently serving as the interim superintendent.
