A teacher in the Mercedes school district has been fired after being arrested for child grooming. Oscar Rosel Olvera was arrested on January 22nd after the district received a tip about an inappropriate relationship with a student.
The Mercedes High School teacher was fired Thursday during a special meeting of the school district’s Board of Trustees. Olvera has been released from jail on a 20-thousand-dollar bond.
