The death of an illegal immigrant, being held at a West Texas detention center, has been ruled a homicide. That’s according to a newly-released autopsy report.

The El Paso County Coroner says that Geraldo Campos died from “asphyxia due to neck and torso compression.” No criminal charges have been filed, as of yet.

Court records show that Campos was an illegal immigrant from Cuba. He was caught last July in Rochester, New York and transferred to Camp East Montana in El Paso in September.
