Investigators say a Mission man was driving recklessly and eating soup before a crash that injured a DPS trooper. Twenty-two-year-old Raul Bustamante was arrested following a crash on East Expressway 83 near Conway Avenue on Tuesday evening.
The criminal complaint alleges that Bustamante was making unsafe lane changes and following too closely in traffic. He also allegedly admitted to eating soup while operating his vehicle.
The trooper suffered serious leg injuries in the crash. Bustamante has been charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
