The Mission Police Department is honoring fallen officers as part of National Police Week. The department held a memorial ceremony Monday for Rio Grande Valley police officers who died in the line of duty.
Chief Cesar Torres read the names of the officers to a group made up of family members and representatives of area law enforcement agencies.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office is planning a similar ceremony on Thursday.
