More School Kids Catching The Coronavirus, But Not Necessarily In School


Local health officials say they continue to see a general increase in child coronavirus infections, which began when classes resumed. But so far, there has not been a coronavirus outbreak in any of the schools. Cameron County Health Authority Dr. James Castillo tells 710 KURV kids are contracting the virus elsewhere:

Castillo says that shows how important it is that everyone who can be vaccinated get vaccinated. The better news, Castillo says, is that the number of COVID patients in local hospitals, and in ICU’s, has been declining recently, although slowly.
