The federal government shutdown is over, with the help of 24 of the 25 Texas Republicans in the US House. By a vote of 222 to 209, the House on Wednesday approved a Senate funding deal to end the shutdown.

The legislation went to President Donald Trump, who signed it. All but one of the 12 Texas Democrats opposed the bill, which fund the government through January 31st. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is paid for through the end of the 2026 fiscal year in September.
