The City of Starbase is now official. Cameron County Commissioners certified the election results and approved the new city. There were only six votes against the incorporation. The city is surrounding Elon Musk’s SpaceX launch site in South Texas.
The town’s elected leaders will be able to make rules and ordinances. It’s unclear if they will create their own police and fire departments or continue to work with neighboring counties.
