An Alamo mother is facing new charges related to the death of her one-year-old child. Ashley Jasmin Rivera was originally charged with injury to a child causing death after her child died in late October.
Investigators said that the one-year-old was left sleeping in a car seat. The seat tipped forward while the child was alone, causing the car seat strap to wrap around the child’s neck.
Rivera was arrested again last week and booked on charges of criminal negligent homicide and abandoning a child in imminent danger. Her bond was set at 60-thousand dollars.
