Doctors are reporting a surge in COVID-19 cases in San Antonio and across South Texas. San Antonio seems to be passing the peak of what doctors are calling the “summer surge.”

A new variant called Nimbus is at work. While it’s not causing a spike in hospitalizations, doctors are still warning residents about the flu-like symptoms. Even healthy people with mild cases of the virus can come down with long COVID-19, which takes a while to recover from.
