Health experts say they’re “extremely worried” about new COVID-19 variants being detected in the U.S. That’s because in the past the variants have explosively spread the coronavirus in countries that had it under relatively good control.
Now, new variants are making it more likely that people can be infected through everyday activities like going to the grocery store.
Meantime, President Biden says “time is of the essence” in speeding up coronavirus vaccine distribution, and says he hopes the U.S. will have herd immunity by summer.
