New Operation Lone Star Leader Sworn In

Governor Greg Abbott chose Mission as the location for Sunday’s swearing-in ceremony for the man who will lead Abbott’s Operation Lone Star border enforcement effort.

Monie Ulis was sworn in as the Deputy Adjutant General of the Texas Military Department at a ceremony in Anzalduas Park.

Ulis will lead the department’s coordinated border missions that are part of Operation Lone Star which Abbott launched in March. That’s the operation that sent hundreds more DPS troopers and Texas Guard soldiers to the border with the intent to arrest people crossing the border illegally on state charges of illegal entry and trespassing.
