Three new travel lanes are now operational at the Anzalduas International Bridge. Federal, state, and local officials gathered Thursday to inaugurate the additional northbound lanes.

The officials say the new passenger vehicle lanes will help shorten wait times for commercial trucks traveling from Mexico into the U.S., resulting in more efficient trade between the two countries. The $2.8 million to construct the lanes came from the federal Coordinated Border Infrastructure fund.
