Former San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg is declaring victory in his primary challenge to incumbent Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai.

As of late Tuesday night, Nirenberg led Sakai by 62 percent of the vote to 38 percent. The former mayor said he’s ready to gear up for the general election. Nirenberg will take on Patrick Von Dohlen, the only Republican candidate, in November.
